H & S Performance

Health & Safety Performance - May - September 2010

Through the site visits conducted by SAT Safety in this quarter we have seen all our sites scoring above the company target score of 90.

We averaged 93.2 across our carpentry and joinery and construction projects. This achievement is to be commended and praise goes out to all our site management teams and the operatives on them. Can this average be beaten in the next quarter??

Sunley Management School.

The improved H & S performance onsite has shown that our Stop! Think! Proceed! campaign in conjunction with good risk management can produce results. Continued application across the board can produce even better results.

Keep up the good work and ensure that we continue to receive the near miss reporting cards for each site.

Working in the Community

Business in the Community (BITC) recently secured European funding for the Right Step Project, which aims to work with businesses to enhance the employability propects of ex- offenders. The project works in Partnership with the prison/ probationary services to equip those who are disadvantage in finding workwith the skills to gain employment and move towards independent living.

As part of the project we recently attended one of the princes' seeing is believing visits at HM Prison Services in Bedford to gain an insight into the work/training prisoners undertake and how we as a Group may be able to support the project.

Using Business Case Studies

M J Hillson project case studies are not only be used on our website, but also across our entire marketing mix. Here are a few examples where these are used:-
• Provide links to our case studies in our emails
• Use a wide variety of examples that can be sent electronically to prospective clients.
• They can be printed and used as handouts.
• They make good news stories for our newsletters and can even be to support power point presentations
• Use quotes from them and build a library of testimonials that can support press releases, flyers or brochures, they can also be particularly useful to support tenders as examples of good practice.

We write ours to give some background information to enable our clients to grasp the project from a note form description. We highlight issues that arose during the project and how these were overcome.
The use of client quotations cannot be underestimated. A good recommendation is important to both our reputation and for propective clients reassurance.
